I know the "Path/File Access Error" is a known issue in Win7. But I'm running Vista SP2 and was wondering if anyone had a problem in Vista or a fix. I saw in one of the threads a comment about a note on Vista but I didn't find it.
What happened is I downloaded, unzipped and ran setup no problem. I was able to open LB Workshop, put the paths to LB, play with syntax coloring, and open some files but I didn't edit or save any. I DID NOT check the option to open the last file. I closed LB Workshop then later on tried to run it again. But I get the "Path/File Access Error". I tried running in compatibility mode for XP SP2 but I still get the same error. I then tried running as an administrator which gave me the window saying I have run LB Workshop 2 times and to please register. I click OK then I get the "Run-time error '380'". I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, removing registry entries (I did not find any) but nothing works.
I would really like to use LB Workshop so please any help is greatly appreciated!
P.S. I installed it to C:\LB Workshop\

Run regedit.exe and use the search function for "LBWorkshop" entries. Remove all of them. Uninstall LBWorkshop and reinstall in the Program Files folder. When you run it, open or create a file and save it. LBWorkshop is written in an old development language. It has not been feasible to port it to a newer language. I've spent a lot of time trying to isolate and fix the file access error and I simply cannot find any reason for it, nor can I recreate it. I apologize. If you have registered and cannot make it work for you, send me a PM with your purchase details and I'll issue a refund.

Well, I followed your steps Alyce (and this time I found all the registry entries) but it did not work. But what did work as has been mentioned in other threads is turning off UAC. I don't know why UAC seems to hate LB Workshop but it seems to be the key to use it in Vista/7. So I will be registering soon! ;D

I'm glad it works for you. I cannot reproduce the error on my Vista machine and I do not have access to a Win7 machine, so I cannot test it there. Thanks for the report.

Just a thought, Alyce, but maybe it would be good to post a sticky, somewhere along the lines of "Before Posting: For Vista/7 users". It could mention the problem that can occur and list the solutions that have been found to work for some.
