I developed a program in LB last year that checks .txt files for misused words and homonyms (nearly 300 items in the database). I'd like to be able to read MSWord documents directly from my program but I can't figure out how to have my program ignore all the garbage MSWord documents carry at the beginning and the end of the file. Got any suggestions? JT Duxbury Jimmyd123@clearwire.net

www.wotsit.org/This site lists file formats for most known filetypes. Start there to discover how to separate the footers and headers from word DOCs. I don't know how easy it will be, or how many differences you'll find in different versions of the DOC format. You'll get much better answers if you ask at the Liberty BASIC forum: libertybasic.conforums.com/This forum is specifically for discussion of my software and it receives very little traffic.
